CLASS PROJECT
Remember that the project is not mandatory, but if you do it you will earn 30 extra points for your house! I’m sure you don’t want to miss the opportunity, plus the chance of earning a beautiful award! :)
For your class project you will have the chance to put into practice all what you have learned in the course. By the month of December/May, after you have learned all what you needed to learn, I will open a store in our Class Forum, and in it I will be selling different kind of plants (of different Greenhouse points values), and you will be buying from me using your Greenhouse Points you have earned through your assignments and extra credits!
Once the store is open, what’s next? Well, before buying anything choose THREE (3) of the following remedies and then think how you would prepare those remedies and which ingredients you are going to need. Please keep in mind the following:
Available remedies:
1. A remedy to treat all kind of wounds.
2. A remedy to treat skin afflictions (acne, eczema, burns, warts, etc.)
3. A remedy to cure bug stings
4. A remedy to treat sleeping problems (insomnia, nightmares, etc.)
5. A remedy to treat stomach illnesses or disorders (gastro intestinal, diarrhea, etc.)
6. A remedy to treat stress and anxiety
7. A remedy to treat depression
8. A remedy to cure eye afflictions (irritation, conjunctivitis, inflammation, etc.)
Flower remedies:
1. A remedy to defeat loneliness and solitude.
2. A remedy to raise self- esteem.
3. A remedy to treat depression.
Once you have chosen your remedies, head to the store and pick all the ingredients you are going to need.
When you are done, send me a HOL Message with your order or “shopping list”. Please specify which ingredients you are using for which remedy.
After I accept your order (I only have to verify that you are not spending more greenhouse points than the ones you have) you can start preparing your remedies, which is basically an explanation and justification of the plants you picked and why you are using them to prepare certain remedy. Also, make sure to include the directions for your remedy (Ex: Use 100 ml of fresh water, boil it for two seconds, add the flowers, stir three times counter clockwise, etc.) Then send me your remedies to the class e-mail.
Your order or “shopping list” is worth 6 points
The preparation of each remedy is worth 8 points (for a total of 24 points)
Remember that:
Include your HOL Name at the top of the e-mail
Do not send your project as an attachment.
Due date is: June 15, 2020.
Unfortunately, for this project I cannot give extensions because the end of term will be approaching and I will need some time to grade, submit points, quills and awards, and close the class.
Have fun!! :D
